Internet Ray Tracing Competition
| The IRTC is a continual competition for amateurs in raytraced pictures. A home for great talents and artists. I have competed many times, and the comments I get are valuable for developing the art. In every round the artists are limited to a given subject. |

 The wishing well |
My first IRTC competition picture. I regret that I didn't explain why the stones are so glazy... that is of course because it is so hot there - they've melted on the surface. Some voters complained about the shiny stones and I maybe lost some points there. However I aim to increase my technical) points for the next round......

 Golden eye |
My own comments: - The mountains are an enlarged part of the picture thereby the blur). - The cliff edge is made of concrete. - This is not the same camera angle as in the movie.

 The playground |
It has many details like the Venetian blinds, the chains and swings, and the hatch on the lightpost. The gutter is also detailed. Using trees outside the visible area gives impression of a much more detailed scene than it is.

 Socorro VLA |
The image is about the Socorro VLA radiotelescope. I wanted more details, especially in the scenery, but didn't have the time.. I noted that I had put the wrong year into the submitted image. That is corrected now.

 Nightcap |
This one was a horror. The final rendering takes abot 2 days, and I had just that time to render. And what happens then? - Yes PovRay crashed!!! The last part of the image after continuation) got brighter than the rest, because the radiosity calculates wrong if not all image is taken into the formulas. my conclusion). That has been corrected now.

 Octopus |
At last an image made well within the timelimit. The alien reflection is just something to spice the scene up a bit.

 The science project |
The image of a physics lab when students got the assignment to gather representative objects representing the four classic elements. My first povray 3.1 IRTC image. My best image so far, judging from the results...

 Computer game |
Ok, I had to make something for this round. Nothing really inspired me, but when there was one week left I got an idea. Computer games are as good examples of imaginary/virtual worlds as you come.

| Sep-Oct 1999 | This round was announced one year earlier (!) Despite this fact, I am (and probably some more people) clueless of what to render. Not that I lack any ideas, but none of them are really realizable projects considering my time at hand and my ever increasing level of outdoing my previous images technically. |
