| What is raytracing?
Light shines from lightsources in all directions. Objects in the world have materials that affect the light by reflection, absorbtion, refraction etc. This can be calculated, and raytracing is calculation of these rays. You calculate these rays as shooting from the eye, not the other way around, because that would be infinitely complex. The result is, hopefully, really realistic images of a completely virtual world. Although I like realism I adore those who can create breathtaking abstract raytraced images.
|
| Why do those rays need tracing anyway?
I love to watch my art grow on the screen. As the world I create get more detail - my image gets more detail. Creating objects, arranging and lighting. The world is in my head and my job is just to make other people able to view it. Most of the times I work I have no real idea of what world I will end up with.

Welcome to my world
These pages contain my genuine handmade pictures. Everything is made with the raytracing program PovRay (Persistance of Vision Raytracer), which is a completely free program for UNIX/DOS/Win95/WinNT/Mac etc...

| My tutorial
I have made my own Povray 3.0 tutorial page, to make any novice learn POV. It is a little old now, but it is still functional. It looks a bit bad too. |
